Wood Tech Expo with answers to industry challenges. The success of the third edition

On March 5-7, 2024, the third edition of Wood Tech Expo, a substantive international trade fair for wood processing and furniture production technologies, took place at Ptak Warsaw Expo. This event integrated industry representatives looking for answers to the challenges of the dynamically changing sector.

9773 visitors, 160 companies presenting their offers across 25,000 square meters at Ptak Warsaw Expo, dedicated to the development of the wood processing technology and furniture production industry – this is what the third edition of Wood Tech Expo looked like in numbers. It opened the participants to international contracts through the presence of foreign contractors, who constituted … a percentage of the visitors. These statistics show how the event is gaining recognition with each edition. Comparing the data from 2022, we can already talk about several dozen percent increases every year.

These numbers are important because they show that an international trading platform is what this industry needs. Additionally, trust in Wood Tech Expo is also growing thanks to acquiring only the highest quality partners and leader companies operating in the sector.

This year, they included BizeA, Polska Grupa CNC, FELDER GROUP, HOMAG, ITA Maszyny i Narzędzia, STURMER, TEKNIKA and INFOTEC CNC. However, there were many more reliable and innovative exhibitors.

Wood Tech Expo with answers to industry challenges

Events organized at Ptak Warsaw Expo have a dominant emphasis on industry education. It was similar in the case of Wood Tech Expo, during which the Woodworking Industry Congress was held. In one place and time, visitors could acquire valuable leads and expand the group of business clients, as well as update the knowledge base and meet valuable experts who take their business to a higher level.

During the event, specialists discussed, among others, the changes affecting the sector. Piotr Poziomski, president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry, spoke about them. Mateusz Dryjer, managing director of SPECBUD, gave a lecture on robotization in the production of pallets, and Dominik Walaszek from AGGE talked about robotization of solid furniture production on the example of MARDOM. There was also a lecture on Polish systems for optimizing wood production (Grzegorz Kotnarowski), as well as a debate “The future of the furniture industry – opportunities and threats”, which was divided into the sectors of competitiveness, human resources and automation, and export.

The thematic cross-section of the Woodworking Industry Congress was therefore broad and met the needs of contemporary enterprises operating in the industry. This is because Ptak Warsaw Expo always focuses on searching for substantive solutions to optimize business.

4-6.03.2025 - the next edition of Wood Tech Expo will take place.

Answers in the era of searching for solutions. Wood Tech Warsaw Expo is coming soon

Wood Tech Warsaw Expo is an event that has been addressing the needs of the woodworking and furniture production industries for years. It gives answers in the era of searching for solutions. Its third edition will take place on March 5-7, 2024 at Ptak Warsaw Expo and will be an effective tool for the development of the sector.

Wood Tech Warsaw Expo is an important event for not one, but two industries. On the one hand, it concerns the wood industry, which has been facing many challenges in recent months. The biggest of them is that Poland currently has one of the highest wood prices in Europe. This affects wood processing plants and causes a decline in their competitiveness and production. This, in turn, affects the furniture sector, which in 2021 accounted for as much as 2.5 percent of the country’s GDP, and its share in exports was 7 percent. However, analyzes indicate that Polish production has recently decreased by one quarter.

Therefore, both of these industries need an impulse to develop, an in-depth analysis of the causes of this state of affairs and finding solutions that will improve the situation. Visitors to Wood Tech Warsaw Expo will receive answers to the challenges, an event that comprehensively addresses the needs and opportunities of the sector. Only active action, contracting and integration of the industry can improve its current situation and ensure a more secure and crisis-resistant future.

Business, furniture production and Polish-Ukrainian cooperation

It's all waiting for you on Wood Tech Expo

Wood Tech Expo is an event integrating the sector of woodworking technology and furniture production. At the same time, its second edition will be a response to global challenges, and one of them is Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the era of Russia's attack on the country of our eastern neighbors. The event will take place on March 7-9, 2023 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.

Poland is one of the leaders of furniture exports in Europe

The Polish furniture production and woodworking industry is one of the European leaders. According to analyses, in 2021 it was to be the second largest exporter. The value of goods sold oscillated around thirteen billion euro, which was an increase in comparison to previous years by almost twenty percent.

Polish furniture is of high quality, which is one of the reasons for international interest in the products. They go mainly to the German market. However, the Czechs, the British, the French and the Dutch are also important partners. These international dependencies were one of the main impulses to delve deeper into topics important for the sector of Polish woodworking technology and furniture production. The result of considerations, market analyzes and months of consultations is Wood Tech Expo, the second edition of which will take place on March 7-9, 2023 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.

Wood Tech Expo - quality for years

Wood Tech Expo is not a new event. This is an event derived from the International Industrial Fair Warsaw Industry Week. Initially, it was one of the fair zones, but the huge interest it enjoyed resulted in an investment in a separate fair event, dedicated exclusively to the wood sector in Poland.

At the moment, it is the most dynamically developing event, presenting, among others, wood and raw material traders, manufacturers and distributors of machines and devices dedicated to the wood and sawmill industry, as well as devices for harvesting, skidding and transporting wood. There will also be suppliers in the field of wood, panels, veneer, adhesives, abrasives and wood coatings or cutting machines, forestry, construction and wooden houses. In addition, Wood Tech Expo will feature exhibitors offering furniture fittings, locks, specialized clothing, as well as wood seasoning and drying machines.

International cooperation during Wood Tech Expo

The upcoming edition of Wood Tech Expo will be even more adapted to European realities. For nearly a year, Ukraine has been struggling with a Russian attack, which has changed the perspective of looking at international solidarity.

In search of new ways of cooperation during the Wood Tech Warsaw Expo, the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Timber Industry will organize, together with its Ukrainian counterpart, a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine with the participation of Polish and Ukrainian wood companies. The side of our eastern neighbor will also be represented by the head of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. In addition, the event will host a representative of the Ukrainian State Forests Directorate. On the Polish side, representatives of the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Economy will participate in the discussion.

All this to further strengthen international cooperation, while opening the domestic sector to new markets.

Who can you meet at Wood Tech Expo?

The partners of Wood Tech Expo are the Polish CNC Group, Felder Group, Festool, Sturmer, Teknika, InfoTec CNC, BizeA and the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry.

PIGPD as a partner of Wood Tech Warsaw Expo

We are pleased to announce that the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry has become a Partner of the Fair of Wood Processing Technology and Furniture Production – Wood Tech Warsaw Expo 2021. The premiere edition of the event will take place on May 12-14, 2021 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.

On March 8, 2021 at Ptak Waraw Expo, a meeting was held, attended by: Mr. Rafał Szefler, director of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Wood Industry and representatives of the Trade Fair and Congress Center: Mrs. Alicja Płatek, director of the project group and Mr. Dariusz Drąg, director of the project group and development director at Ptak Warsaw Expo. The result of the meeting is the establishment of cooperation between the Chamber and Wood Tech Warsaw Expo.

As part of the cooperation, the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry will actively support the organizers in the implementation of the event, including: participation in the conference and conducting activities aimed at disseminating information about the fair. The Wood Processing Technology and Furniture Production Fair received the recommendation of the Chamber, which encourages you to participate in an event dedicated to representatives of the wood industry.

The Polish Chamber of Commerce for the Wood Industry has existed since 1992. It is one of the largest nationwide economic self-government organizations in the wood industry. PIGPD currently associates nearly 150 companies. Most of them are sawmill enterprises, but there are also producers of garden architecture, floors, pallets, wooden houses, machines and tools, traders, etc. These are both the largest entities in the country, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. All entities are equal members of the Chamber. Its main tasks include carrying out activities aimed at maintaining the dynamics of industrial development. To this end, it is crucial to take steps to ensure the stability of wood supply to the industry, support the implementation of modern solutions and technologies, and support in the sale of products and market expansion.

The mission of PIGPD is to actively support the development of the broadly understood Polish wood industry, the integration of producers and cooperation between them. The same idea guides the organizers of the fair, which are an excellent opportunity to learn about market trends and novelties, acquire valuable know-how, as well as expand their network of contacts and build lasting business relationships. We are convinced that in cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Wood Industry, the Wood Tech Warsaw Expo will be an excellent platform for the promotion of the Polish wood industry and the dynamization of many processes in the Polish industry.
