Year to year, the number of event exhibitors increased by almost ten percent, and the number of visitors from abroad and Poland increased by 64 percent. This event integrated the sector and presented its new perspectives. It allowed producers, distributors and manufacturers to meet B2B entrepreneurs and investors ready to invest capital in the Polish wood market. It also opened up to international cooperation thanks to the presence of foreign companies and representatives of the European branch of the industry. Thus, it allowed Polish entrepreneurs to expand the base of business contacts, expand the sales market and ensure greater market stability in times of dynamic changes in the sector.

And there’s been a lot of change recently. They mainly concern financial issues, including the situation on the eastern market, as well as rising inflation, rising prime costs and more expensive transport. Legislative changes also took place, which concerned, among others, the decisions of the State Forests. There were also concerns from associations cooperating with the wood industry regarding a direct and severe threat to the current and future competitiveness of the industry in Poland and on global markets.

All these topics were also discussed during the Wood Tech Warsaw Expo. It was possible thanks to cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Timber Industry. The conference entitled “Polish timber market. Status and prospects” dealt with the most important issues for this sector. Among others, the subject of the current situation on the timber market was discussed, with an emphasis on foreign trade in Polish timber. The prices of raw materials for 2023 and the place of Poland in the global perspective of the industry were also discussed. There were also discussions on the domestic sawn timber market, new import directions and the global timber market. In addition, they discussed what to do with FSC certification and indicated the prospects for the next months and years for the domestic wood market.

The Polish furniture production and woodworking industry is one of the European leaders. According to analyses, in 2021 it was to be the second largest exporter. The value of goods sold oscillated around thirteen billion euro, which was an increase in comparison to previous years by almost twenty percent.

Polish furniture is of high quality, which is one of the reasons for international interest in the products. They go mainly to the German market. However, the Czechs, the British, the French and the Dutch are also important partners. These international dependencies were one of the main impulses to delve deeper into topics important for the sector of Polish woodworking technology and furniture production. The result of considerations, market analyzes and months of consultations is Wood Tech Expo, the second edition of which will take place on March 7-9, 2023 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.

Wood Tech Expo is not a new event. This is an event derived from the International Industrial Fair Warsaw Industry Week. Initially, it was one of the fair zones, but the huge interest it enjoyed resulted in an investment in a separate fair event, dedicated exclusively to the wood sector in Poland.

At the moment, it is the most dynamically developing event, presenting, among others, wood and raw material traders, manufacturers and distributors of machines and devices dedicated to the wood and sawmill industry, as well as devices for harvesting, skidding and transporting wood. There will also be suppliers in the field of wood, panels, veneer, adhesives, abrasives and wood coatings or cutting machines, forestry, construction and wooden houses. In addition, Wood Tech Expo will feature exhibitors offering furniture fittings, locks, specialized clothing, as well as wood seasoning and drying machines.

The upcoming edition of Wood Tech Expo will be even more adapted to European realities. For nearly a year, Ukraine has been struggling with a Russian attack, which has changed the perspective of looking at international solidarity.

In search of new ways of cooperation during the Wood Tech Warsaw Expo, the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Timber Industry will organize, together with its Ukrainian counterpart, a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine with the participation of Polish and Ukrainian wood companies. The side of our eastern neighbor will also be represented by the head of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. In addition, the event will host a representative of the Ukrainian State Forests Directorate. On the Polish side, representatives of the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Economy will participate in the discussion.

All this to further strengthen international cooperation, while opening the domestic sector to new markets.

We are pleased to announce that the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry has become a Partner of the Fair of Wood Processing Technology and Furniture Production – Wood Tech Warsaw Expo 2021. The premiere edition of the event will take place on May 12-14, 2021 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.

On March 8, 2021 at Ptak Waraw Expo, a meeting was held, attended by: Mr. Rafał Szefler, director of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Wood Industry and representatives of the Trade Fair and Congress Center: Mrs. Alicja Płatek, director of the project group and Mr. Dariusz Drąg, director of the project group and development director at Ptak Warsaw Expo. The result of the meeting is the establishment of cooperation between the Chamber and Wood Tech Warsaw Expo.

As part of the cooperation, the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry will actively support the organizers in the implementation of the event, including: participation in the conference and conducting activities aimed at disseminating information about the fair. The Wood Processing Technology and Furniture Production Fair received the recommendation of the Chamber, which encourages you to participate in an event dedicated to representatives of the wood industry.

The Polish Chamber of Commerce for the Wood Industry has existed since 1992. It is one of the largest nationwide economic self-government organizations in the wood industry. PIGPD currently associates nearly 150 companies. Most of them are sawmill enterprises, but there are also producers of garden architecture, floors, pallets, wooden houses, machines and tools, traders, etc. These are both the largest entities in the country, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. All entities are equal members of the Chamber. Its main tasks include carrying out activities aimed at maintaining the dynamics of industrial development. To this end, it is crucial to take steps to ensure the stability of wood supply to the industry, support the implementation of modern solutions and technologies, and support in the sale of products and market expansion.
